My challenge is to help keep the fire in their hearts burning–to learn, to take risks, to allow a space for each to feel secure as they navigate their way through the challenges of our language and culture, while living so far away from their homelands. Ninety minutes spent together each week is a gift to me. I hope I return the same to my students.
