Teaching Reading & Spelling to Students Who May Have Disabilities
Facilitated by Susan Zagar, Basic Literacy Coordinator
Wednesday, August 5, 2015
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Rockville Library, 2nd floor meeting room
While the Literacy Council does not diagnose for learning disabilities, it may become evident through the initial interview process or during initial tutoring sessions that some of our adult learners present specific learning challenges. Susan will discuss the myth versus fact on student’s ability to learn and will offer different strategies that tutors can use to be more effective in teaching learners who may have learning disabilities.
NOTE: Pre-registration is required as attendees will be required to do some pre-workshop activities.
To register, email Jennifer Szabo or call 301-610-0030, ext. 205.
