Become a Literacy Leader
Breaking the cycle of poverty, isolation, deferred dreams and limited potential is the work of many. Together with individuals, organizations and governments, LCMC is committed to leveraging resources and building capacity in order to teach and support more people learn to read, write and speak English, more efficiently.
When you support LCMC programs, that support is reinvested in resource-generating activities which helps people gain literacy skills and yield thousands of dollars in direct financial support for LCMC. With multi-year Leadership Gifts of $1,000 or more, LCMC is able to take its work in Montgomery County to greater heights on behalf of people who wish to transform their lives through improved literacy skills. LCMC invites you to join us in this commitment today. Your contribution will go toward the unrestricted operating funds of the Literacy Council.
Literacy Leader Giving Levels
Creating Hope – A pledge of $1,000 per year for 5 years, which is approximately $83 per month, would allow us to provide literacy instruction for 2 students each year for the next 5 years.
Supporting Dreams – A pledge of $5,000 a year for five years would allow LCMC to recruit, train, match and provide support for 50 additional volunteer tutors who will help 50 or more students improve their literacy skills and achieve their life goals.
Changing Lives – A pledge of $10,000 a year for five years would enable us to offer a transitional program for students who have graduated from the Literacy Council’s tutoring and class programs. This would provide students with the additional literacy skills and instruction needed to prepare them for successful participation in GED classes, and ultimately, earning their high school diploma and achieving a better quality of life.
We know and respect that you may prefer to give at a different level or on a different time frame, so please let us know what type of arrangement would best suit your needs.
